WEB Day, or Where Everybody Belongs, is a middle school orientation and transition program that welcomes students new to the school and strives to makes them feel comfortable throughout the year.  The day is designed for all incoming 6th grade students as well as 7th and 8th grade students who are new to San Jose Middle School, and VLA students unfamiliar with the campus.

The new students will get campus tours by veteran student leaders, pick up their class schedule and locker numbers, and meet school staff. Lunch will be provided by the San Jose Middle School PTA starting at 12:15 pm, and parents or guardians are welcome to join us and ask questions of the staff or principal.

Through this nationally recognized middle school transition program, members of the eighth-grade class are trained to act as positive role models, mentors, and teachers who guide the sixth- and seventh-graders to discover what it takes to be successful in middle school.

Schools have reported that the WEB middle school transition program has enhanced anti-bullying efforts, reduced discipline issues, and increased school safety, creating an improved school climate and a greater sense of connection for the whole school.

WEB is about building relationships and encouraging participation.

Exact times and more details will be announced closer to the date.
