The time has come to begin thinking about promotion! It is hard to believe that in the near future the 8th graders will be meeting with their high school counselors and planning for freshman year. Our celebrations of the 8th graders will indeed look different, but there will be nothing short of true scorpion spirit and fun as we send them off to high school.
We are working with our parent and guardian community, Leadership class, and staff to plan both end of the year activities and a wonderful promotion “ceremony.” As we work on preparations for these events, there is a time-sensitive detail that needs your attention. All promoting 8th graders have the opportunity to wear a royal blue gown as we honor their promotion. The school will provide every eighth-grader with a gown for the promotion event. However, families can opt to purchase a new gown for $20. You also have the option of borrowing a gown from a friend or sibling. We suggest confirming that the gown you borrow fits properly and is royal blue. Following the promotion event, bins will be set up to allow students to donate their gown back to the school for future use.
