For Incoming 6th Graders: Registering for SJMS

Confirm Your Address in Aeries
Registration materials are distributed based on the student’s current address in Aeries. If your address is not current in Aeries or you have recently moved, please contact your current school to have it updated.
Submit Back-To-School Forms in Aeries (August)
Re-enrollment in Aeries will be open in August for you to fill out back-to-school forms, emergency cards, and all other forms required for San Jose Middle School.
Residency
At some point, you will need to fill out a Declaration of Residency form and provide Proof of Residency. You will receive instructions when this is needed.

Submit Elective Requests (March)
Elective Request forms are available online on the Electives Page. The deadline for incoming grade 6 students to submit elective preferences is March 26. (Current SJMS grade 6 and 7 students have until April 1).
Registering
If you were already enrolled in an NUSD elementary school, you do not have to re-register. You are already registered. You only need to fill out your Elective Request, Declaration of Residency, and Proof of Residency.

Intra District Transfers
If you have applied for an Intra District Transfer, return your registration materials to the default school that corresponds to your home address. Once transfers are finalized, your paperwork will be sent to your school of choice. You will be contacted by your school of choice if anything more is needed.
WEB (Where Everybody Belongs)
WEB (Where Everybody Belongs) is our warm welcome and orientation for incoming 6^th graders and other new students. Our annual WEB day takes place in August. Keep an eye out for details and ensure your new student attends this valuable session.

Submit Your Elective Preferences (March/April)
The deadline for current SJMS grade 6 and 7 students to submit elective preferences for next year is April 1, 2024. Please visit the Electives Page to learn more about offerings and find the form to submit your preferences.
Registering
If you are not new to SJMS, you do not need to re-register. You are already registered.

For Outgoing 8th Graders: Registering for High School

For students attending an NUSD high school in the fall, you will be automatically contacted by the high school assigned for your attendance area, unless you have applied and accepted placement for one of the school programs listed: MSA, MCP, STEM, BIOTECH, or AVID. If you have applied for one of those special programs, you will hear from them directly about registration procedures. All registration will be done online through Zoom.

Please make sure your contact information is up-to-date in Aeries.
